Sea Song of Sadness

If I could take you anywhere
I’d take you by the sea…
We’d feel the air caress our face
And laugh and simply be.
We’d hear the music of the surf;
We’d smell the salty air.
We’d take our shoes off
Walk in sand
And leave our footprints there.
And think of nothing
Then we’d watch
The seagulls come and go.
I think you would have liked it,
But you simply would not go.
