Moonlight
on the bedroom wall
Beckons
someone very small
To
laugh with me and play awhile
Captivating
babystyle.
I
can do just what you do.
We
can play the whole night through,
Shadowbaby
seems to say.
He's
been waiting all the day
For
a tiny dimpled hand
To
touch his own in Shadowland.
Waiting
for a little head
To
rub his own beside the bed.
Waiting
for some tiny feet
To
prance on pillows clean and neat.
Waiting
for a baby boy
To
dance with him in Shadowjoy.
To
hug him on the moonlit wall.
To
make him big and make him small.
See
him bounce and see him bend!
Shadowbaby
and his friend!
Shadowbaby's
such a clown.
He
stands up, then he falls down.
Shadowbaby
gets a kiss.
Who
could that be doing this?
Shadowgrandma
lingers near.
She
makes a shadowduck appear.
Baby
squeals with pure delight,
Seeing
such a funny sight.
Shadowbaby's
getting weary.
Time
to go to sleep, my dearie.
Cuddling
baby with his charms,
Grandma
holds him in her arms
And
sings to him a lulling tune;
A
lullaby of Shadowmoon.
