MISSION STATEMENT? This is more like a FAQ. . .
Just who the fuck is Sinewave? I found this site because of that bastard. . . Who am I? Well you can prolly figure that out from the site but. . . Hey that actually is a good description of me. . . Well you could read the following. . . Be warned it's not finished and possibly may offend! Doubtless if you actually are reading this page then you
must be wondering who Sinewave is? Either that or you stumbled onto
this page and are wondering why you should care who this obviously self
absorbed asshole is. The Internet is if nothing else, a great place
for self aggrandizement. Well you might be interested. . . Right? Nah. . . So who am I anyway? Well first and foremost I'm a musician.
You can hear the stuff that my collaborators and I have cooked up elsewhere
on this little piece of digital property. Pleasant Valley Aerospace
is my current band/project and perhaps I will put together a touring
version of it one day. People seem to like what we've done (honestly
it's just two man band) so things are looking good. I used to be in
a band called Sinewave so that explains where I got my moniker. Anyway
working on music is what I do with almost all of my time. So how does one who is not a signed artist afford to be
a full time musician you ask? Well I have a lot of free time due to
various health problems that have plagued me since around '98. So that
makes me (as my Bio's on various message boards say) literally a shiftless
lay about. I also have what could be termed as an unhealthy obsession
with RPG's (especially ones from Square Enix), Manga, and Anime. Being
so obsessed with these things has led me to learning to speak and read
a little Japanese. I also find guilty pleasure in listening to Japanese
bands. It's funny that I'll listen to J-Pop but I won't touch American
Pop music with Bea Arthur's dick. I guess it's because I love their
language so much. I also have a Star Wars obsession but that of course goes
without saying for just about my entire generation. As for my vital statistics: I grew up in the California
Central Valley out in the country just a few miles away from Escalon,
Oakdale, and the (now) infamous Modesto. I attended school in Escalon
and I can't say that I really enjoyed it all that much. The Queen Bee's
were bitches and the Jocks were assholes. So it was pretty much like
every school in the world. In my senior year I went from being a nerd/outcast
to a popular musician who some people were afraid of. That was a wonderful
cathartic experience that showed me how incredibly pointless the whole
school social experience really is. Far too many people live their lives
in fear of what others think of them. Between living in the country and going to school in Escalon I luckily missed out on the whole Modesto equation. I don't really feel any attachment to the town nor any of the weird hate/adoration thing that many of its natives have. I do get a kick out of how many idiots around the world think that Modesto is cool because the band Grandaddy says so. Trust me there is nothing cool about being an alcoholic in a town that's famous for missing people and murders. Even George Lucas got the fuck out of dodge as soon as possible and he very rarely comes back. |
